What is included in motor trade insurance?
There are lots of different options that can be included in motor trade insurance. Whether you are operating from commercial business premises or on a smaller scale, there are many different policies that can suit your business with plenty of different options.
Business premises
If you buy and sell cars or work with cars from a business premises there are policies available that may typically cover all of the vehicles that are kept at the premises. You may also wish to have covered any other contents at the business premises and money kept onsite. If you are buying and selling vehicles you may also want to include the option of insuring demonstration vehicles, courtesy cars and any vehicles that you hire out.
Road risks
Motor traders insurance may typically be available to include any risks that may occur when you, your vehicles and any drivers you may employ. Your policy may also cover any equipment and tools that you transport in your vehicles as well as any goods that you may be transporting.
Trading from home
There are specialist trade insurance policies available if you are buying and selling vehicles on a small scale and working from home. Some car trade insurance policies typically may be extended to cover both stock and family vehicles. There may be a limit on the policy of the value of vehicles that may typically be covered.
Mechanical repairs
If you are keeping vehicles on your premises for mechanical repairs and servicing, specialist policies are available that may typically cover any vehicle kept at your premises whilst they are being worked on. This may include storage and parking.
